Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are evident:
Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
The flesh the corrupt depraved controlling force of unregenerate man; The following are a list of the flesh and all that it manifest. “Sexual immorality”, that is defilement of the marriage bed. (adultery) , “impurity” , morally bankrupt, other wise lacking any morals. “sensuality”; licentiousness (sometimes including other vices): – filthy, lasciviousness, wantonness. vs. 20 Idolatry ( the act of bowing down, to lick as a dog) what ever you put yourself in servitude to. the next word sorcery it’s where we get the word “Pharmacy”medication meaning drugs, that is, (by extension) magic (literal or figurative): – sorcery, witchcraft. I am not going to go through all the list as you can see it is a clear description of a depraved heart. And this heart beats in all of us. How could any man think Himself worthy of God’s love. How could any man claim to have enough desire to seek God. These list of words pertaining to the flesh are in the present tense, which means keep on doing them, They are habitual to the unregenerate person, I am not saying that every unregenerate person practices all these sins. These are just visible manifestations of the flesh at work. In Ephesians 2: 1,2 And you were dead in the trespass and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world’, following the prince of the power of the air the very same spirit that is now at work in the son’s of disobedience.
Now those who continually do such things , not only do them but practice and persuade other to follow will not inherit the kingdom of God. It also says in Ephesians 1;3- 6, Eph 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Christ, God has given us every spiritual blessing in heaven. Eph 1:4 In Christ, he chose us before the world was made. He chose us in love to be his holy people–people who could stand before him without any fault. Eph 1:5 And before the world was made, God decided to make us his own children through Jesus Christ. This was what God wanted, and it pleased him to do it. Eph 1:6 And this brings praise to God because of his wonderful grace. God gave that grace to us freely. He gave us that grace in Christ, the one he loves.
In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. (1John 4:9)
(meaning to kiss, like a dog licking his master’s hand); to fawn or crouch to, that is, (literally or figuratively) prostrate oneself in homage (do reverence to, adore): – worship.
