Galatians 6:14 But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, How sweet it is when truth passes over the lips of man. Here Paul, by the grace of God dispels all fleshly works of man, in one simple statement.  Paul will boast only in the “cross of Christ Jesus” The cross because it represents death, death to the world and death to the flesh. The Lord Jesus Christ represents eternal life, and has no rivals. there is no other name given among men, whereby we must be saved. It is an assault on God’s grace to suggest the flesh was required for salvation. But until we consider ourselves dead to the world can we have victory in Christ. For the son of God to be born of a virgin, live a sinless life be unjustly condemned, bruised for our iniquities and put to open shame bearing the sins of many so that the Father had to turn away. This is the cross of Christ. For the Son of God to die for the unjust, taking on their sins and giving them His righteousness, this is the cross of Christ.  This is what Paul boasted in, what is it that you boast in? All that we have learned in Galatians should leave no doubt to God’s plan of salvation. 1. Man is born into sin and is lost with no hope of a relationship with God.(Romans 3:23) 2. Even as he has chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world. (Ephesians 1:4) 3. God so love the world that He sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) 4. And when the gentiles heard this they rejoiced and glorifying the word of God and as many as were appointed to eternal believed. (Acts 13:48)

In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. (1John 4:9)
