Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
For we are his workmanship, from the prior verse, we can not frustrate the work of a Sovereign God, if we could He would not be sovereign. This workmanship or the working of God was laid out in Ephesians 1: 1-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual Blessing in the heavenly places, even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world that we should be Holy and blameless before Him. In Love He predestined us, for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ according to the purpose of His will. God is not man that He should repent, when God ascribes a work we will finish it through completion.
The work of grace is a creation, a new creature; not a new addition of old Adam’s principles, but; an infusion of new ones, and is a work of almighty power; and such who have it wrought in them, are said to be created in Christ; because as soon as a man becomes a new creature, he is openly and visibly in Christ; and by these new principles of grace which are created in him, he is fit and ready, and in a capacity to perform good works, done in faith and acceptable before God. The new man formed in him, is formed for righteousness and true holiness; the internal principle of grace both excites unto good works, and qualifies for, the performance of righteous and holy actions.
Like sheep in the care of a good shepherd, who has laid out his paths before hand for the safe keeping of His sheep, our Lord god has prepared beforehand by His providence our path. The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want, He makes me to lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside still water, He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of Righteousness for His name sake. Even through I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil, For you are with me; your rod and your staff the comfort me. Amen
