Ephesians 2:12 remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

Pretty similar to the earlier verse with more emphasis on the promise given to Abraham and alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise. Before we look at that  Paul again says remember  you were at that time separated from Christ, That is have no part what so ever, at least the Jews had the promise and the ceremonial practices and circumcision, but the Gentile were separated having nothing. They we as far out in left field as you can get. Paul spent the book of Galatians trying to convince  them that the law and all the ceremonial practices and circumcision were of no value when it came to being saved, the New Covenant in Christ is Grace, the gentiles I believe were at an advantage for they had no religious baggage to bring along no bragging rights. In a since they were naked. Today trying to witness to a self religious person is very frustrating, they are two inches from heaven heading for hell, that being the Jews, but the gentile were two inches from hell and head for hell. Offer of the Good news sounds a little more welcome when your feet are hot. Offer of a cool drink is tempting. Self religious people thing they are on good terms with the god of their mind, and Satan is happy for them to keep worshiping their god. When you see your neighbor or family member heading for hell on the fast track, remember you was once on that fast track, you heard the Good News, are you sharing this Good News with you neighbors and family, remember you were once separated from God with no Hope.
