Ephesians 2:15,16 by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace,
By abolishing the laws and expressed in the Ordinances , the hostility that kept Jews and gentiles and unsaved men from God is now done away with. Even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; which consisted of many precepts, and carnal ordinances; and is so called because it was an indication of God’s hatred of sin, by requiring sacrifice for it; and because it was an occasion of stirring up the enmity of the natural man, it being a burden and a weariness to the flesh. The two type of people before Christ consisted of the Chosen Jews (Israel) and the Pagans or (Gentile). God the Father through Christ has abolished the two and created in Christ one. Which explains what is meant before by making both one; and expresses the strictness of the union between Jew and Gentile, they became as one man; and points at the manner in which they became so strictly united; and that is by being made new men, or new creatures, therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creation. (2 Corinthians 5:7) by having a work of grace upon their souls, and so baptized into one body, and made to drink of one and the same Spirit. Now the old is gone and the new has come, that being the one new man. Many of men powerful men have sought to bring peace, but God the almighty God the only God has done what man has only dreamed of by breaking down the wall and making all one in Christ. Thus the Church is born the Body of Christ. And might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. (Ephesians 2:16).
