God’s mystery is revealed by Revelation
Ephesians 3:1-3 For this reason I, Paul, a prisoner for Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles– assuming that you have heard of the stewardship of God’s grace that was given to me for you, how the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly.
Looking at Ephesians 3:1-3 as a complete sentence. For this reason; which is one of the main themes in Ephesians that being the mystery of God, bringing the Gentile into the family of God. Paul is not a forced prisoner of Christ but a wilful bond servant. A regular servant could be released, and bond servant is a wilful lifetime commitment. In your relationship with Christ are you a servant or a willing lifetime bond servant to Christ? And Paul was committed to this relationship for the cause of the Gentile. There should be no freedmen in the service of Christ, servitude is evidence of a true Christian. This ia assuming you have heard of the duties given you because of the Grace of God. What Paul is saying because of the Grace of God you are saved, your natural spiritual response should be servitude to Christ and performing your christian duties. A bond servant attitude shows our love to our savior, Love is a verb, true love forces action. The church needs fighting men of God, not “weasel-eyed, jelly spined, four-flushing. . . Christians.” These are the words of evangelist Billy Sunday. The ungodly masses who inhabit the world are relentless in their pursuit to destroy Christianity. Relentless to get God out of our school systems. We can’t be by-standers in our servitude, we must fight the “fight of Faith”. The mystery of God hidden for over four thousand years, the Grace that would be extended to gentile as up to now only the Jews had experienced. And by the providence of God He chose Paul to reveal this mystery. And every soul saved By God has a mandate to fulfill the God given task, who will supply the grace to accomplish it.
