Ephesians 4:3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Eager to maintain unity!  What are you eager to do in your local Church which is the Body of Christ?  Our unity in Christ is already settled. To those who are the called and saved by Grace. Our unity with God the father was settled by Christ redeeming work on the cross. And at the moment of being saved we were sealed by the Holy Spirit our unity with the spiritualities has been settled. What Paul recognizes it that the unity between the very people whom God has called is fractured at times. Even when we disagree there are important issue we can agree on and for the sake of unity we must show our love. Paul put it this way “all I need to know of you is Jesus Christ and Him crucified”. (  1 Corinthians  2:2 For I decided to know nothing among you accept Jesus Christ and him crucified.) The color of carpet or the drapes in your church is nothing to disrupt the unity of the church, where it does there is no love evident. I have seen church split over child discipline, busybodies lacking love and out to sow discord. When you see the family they unjustly accuse,  the children outwardly show the love they have for their parents. All because they were upset that the pastor would not preach topically. He was a firm believe in preaching expositionally. So when He got to ” Proverbs 20:30  The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly. They twisted the message to show He must be bruising His kids. It is usually not doctrinal issue that divide, because birds of a feather stick together. So lets us strive to maintain the spirit of unity in a bond of love, and not sow discord.
