Who deserves God’s Love?
Does God love sinners, thieves, murders, heterosexual, homosexual, all people born in sin.
What does the word Love mean? Here is a couple of examples of what man thinks love is
Love means knowing that no matter what, you have someone to count on. It’s unconditional and makes you feel good on the inside. You can trust the person you love and are comfortable around them. It’s like your heart tells you that it is good for you. Love never hurts or makes you cry your eyes out. It’s very gentle and warm. You never give up on the people you love. Lisa S.
To me, true love is when you can completely be yourself around another person in good times and bad. It’s loving each other’s differences and appreciating them exactly as they are. Love is the feeling that something is missing when you are apart and the realization that everything seems so much better when you are together. Vanessa S.
Agape Love, the love of God is first seen in action as a verb. This is demonstrated by The father sending His son to bear the sins of many. Gods love is unconditional, accepting, forever.
Again in the media the pun dents namely Jehmu Greene a Fox News contributors crying out that God loves” homosexual” for the sake of argument I will address this issue and use the term sinners. Does God love sinners? The old saying is “God hates the sin, but love the sinner”. If God loves sinners, that means He ( the sinner) would not have to change His sinning ways, if we use the definition of “Agape Love”. The very core of the sinner is sin. All His works are as filthy rags. God by His very nature cannot love sinners. God is Holy, that is why God had to turn away when His Son became sin on the cross. It is the “Love OF God” that any sinners saved. Not the love of sinners.
“Love is the best known but least understood of all God’s attributes. Almost everyone who believes in God these days see Him as a God of love. I have even met agnostics who are quite certain that if God exists, He must be benevolent, compassionate, and loving. all those things are infinitely true about God, of course, but not in the way most people think. Because of the influence of modern liberal theology, many suppose that God’s love and goodness ultimately nullify His righteousness, justice, and holy wrath. They envision God as a benign heavenly grandfather-tolerant, affable, lenient, permissive, devoid of any real displeasure over sin, who without consideration of His holiness will benignly pass over sin and accept people as they are”. ( John MacArthur)
If you are going to claim God’s attitude of love then you have to claim all His attributes as well. The Solitariness of God, The Decrees of God, The Knowledge of God, The Foreknowledge of God, The Supremacy of God, The Sovereignty of God, The Immutability of God, The Holiness of God, The Power of God, The Faithfulness of God, The Goodness of God, The Patience of God, The Grace of God, The Wrath of God, The Contemplation of God. God being God cannot violate one of His attributes to over another. By that I mean everything God does must be in accordance with all His attributes. The Holiness of God cannot tolerate sinful man, but the goodness of God by the grace of God He offered His Son to fulfill the wrath of God. Here we see all his attributes being in harmony. So by the very nature of God and His attributes He cannot love the sinner. By His Grace the “Love of God” is manifest to many. God’s attributes cannot violate another attribute, the saying that God love sinners, would violate His attributes. It’s the love of God not God’s love to that saves sinners.
Who deserves God’s Love? No One.
